I am directed by the Controller to transmit to you the cccompanying Claims against German debtors which have been received, ineluded with others arising in Hong Kong, from the Local Controller,
2. As your Bank is incorporated in this country the laims of its branches must be lodged by your Head Office with the Central Clearing office in this country and the amounts due must, however, be expressed in sterling currency.
3. I am to state for your information that the official rates of prewar exchange, referred to in section (a) of Article 296 of the Treaty of Versailles, adopted in the case of Hong Kong with Germany is Marks 1.82 = 1 and as between Hong Kong and England Al = 1/100 & 1/16th.
